tis a nice one how much ya after for the frame and seat clamp then
I've spent an hour this afternoon stripping this and i'm still not convinced i want to keep it, i'm not a huge Goose fan and i feel i will have a problem in finding some forks for it. Whilst i didn't really need the bike, there was no way i was going to leave it there. I'm currently building a Kuwahara and don't really have the time to crack on with this one aswell as.
Nice find Andy From the serial number it's an 83' so it's late for a gusseted goose - nice If it was me - with an '83 serial number i'd be very tempted to do a california special with it (check the piccy below) maybe it was one originally As for forks mongoose had moved away altogether from the tange "pinched" 1200 forks for the standard geese at this point as you can see from all the gusseted geese in the 83 catalogue - they all have the "team" or "super" dropout goose forks - if you look at the pictures closely though the fork tubes look thicker than the original 7/8" supergoose forks and it is my belief that the 83 gusseted geese are 1" forks i.e. the same as found on the cali/experts to follow - I'm sure there will be someone who will disagree with that statement but for my tuppence from my research that is definitely the case If you do split her up though Andy i'd be interested in the stem mate California Special as pictured in the '83 catalogue (notice the forks) :
someone apparently scored a mini gt with flight cranks for £18 at that same boot sale a couple of weeks ago, although the guy who told me was a bit of a bull shitter nice find though!
I know someone who picked up a complete CW Phase 1 for about a £10 not too far back.
