Most of the above are not really race-specific rims. Most chrome rims suffer from flaking these days.Rhino Lite XLs are pretty good though,as are the Bombshells. If yoyu`ve got deep pockets try the Answer wheelsets..

If you haven't fallen victim to middle age spread you could get away with 1.5" rims but yes as a rule the grownups should be on 1.75"

I would go for a Sun Rim, probably this one:

Thats a light weight version, although it's not described as a race rim, I can't see any other reason to make it lighter.

All my bikes and the kids bikes have Sun rims.

What's your budget then fella???

Glen, the Sun Envy rim is probably the best race specific rim out there right now, so give Phil/Wolfy a call  :daumenhoch:

Just looked on Answers web page and it states there 1.5 rims have.....no rider weight limit  ???
I might actually build a bike this year instead of just hoarding parts :)

That's right Pete.  28 hole, 1.5" and no weight limit.  Scott Waterhouse (19+ National No.1 on my team) just got a set so it'll be interesting to see how they hold up.

I was gonna get some but I just got a contract to sell Industry 9 wheels so I'll probably get some of those for my bike instead.

They've just started doing the I9 cruiser wheels as they were waiting for Sun to start making the Envy rims in 32h.  I'm awaiting the BMX wheel pricing then I should be bringing some in.  US price is around $900
