Any Old Schoolers in Leeds?
« on: May 12, 2009, 11:43 AM »
I just got my bike (GT CALAFIA 2009) yesterday and I want to see if i can still ride/do my old tricks... but kinda wondering if there are anyone out there close to me?
LEEDS/HEADINGLEY

i'm 34 btw - which will probably make doing tricks hard!!!  :-[

thanks all!
i'm gonna get home from work today and gonna try a boomerang!
i need 2 more pegs plus the pegs currently on the bike are on the right side so can't do much (i'm right handed so always start on the left side of the bike)

i'd love to go to the skate park in hyde park here but it's gonna be full of younger kids and i'll just feel stupid if i was on my own!  :-\

what kind of riding do you guys do? street? ramp? i'm afraid i can't jump! only flat... and i tried last night and i can't even pop a wheelie!! i think this stupid bike i got is definitely too long for me! (21inch top tube) or maybe i just need to get used to it again (i'm only 5'2") but i'll definitely join you guys next time just to ride around with! lemme know when you guys are riding! :-)
my boomerang was funny as i almost ended up with my face in the ditch after the first try! i did pull it off the 2nd try but had to tap brakes!

i shouldn't have started watching RAD again!!!

5' 2" and a 21" top tube's not a good combination.

You'd be much better on summat a bit shorter I'm sure mate.

Wakey skatepark  :smitten:

If only I could ride "freestyle"  :'(
I might actually build a bike this year instead of just hoarding parts :)

the sun is now too nice to be just riding in front of my house...

anyone near or in leeds fancy meeting up? it can get lonely just riding in circles (as i found out last night) and trying to do old tricks that i definitely can't do anymore  :'(

a friend of mine just told me he's got his old BMX still which turns out to be an 84 Raleign Burner.. but we couldn't ride together coz he needed a new innertube for his front and also back brake.
