HERSDEN 17TH MAY.....WHO'S COMING??
« on: May 04, 2009, 08:24 PM »
Round two of the Summer Series at Hersden takes place on 17th May. Hopefully we will have one or two more Old Skoolers up for it this time, if you are coming let me know by pm or this thread, although pre reg will not be taken.

Cruiser turnout for round one was great, and any riders wishing to bring the bigger bikes are invited to let me know here, so I have a rough idea on numbers.

Also during this meeting, listen out for details on the Hersden Charity Day , that takes place during round five of the series on August 16th.

Hope to see you all there

It's on my calendar but as house goes on market on the previous Friday I hope maybe I'll have some viewers that day.  We shall see nearer the time.  Would be a shame to miss the meeting.  Humps

Nice one guys, will be good to see Simon and Spillers back at Hersden, and Crooch, if Andrea has a go I think we could be in for a busy afternoon in the Ladies class, we had seven in round one that could be doubled next week :daumenhoch:

Fingers crossed for the weather guys. It wasnt looking too good for Sunday earlier in the week, but now the bbc say the east of England should have bright spells and a few scateered showers , so we should be OK :daumenhoch:

It`s usually about 12 noon Sharon  :daumenhoch:
I see you stand like greyhounds in the slips,
Straining upon the start. The game's afoot:
Follow your spirit, and upon this charge
Cry 'God for Harry, England, and Saint George!'

Another top day, the rain came, went, was sunny, bloody blowy and then rained again as we left!!   but 80 odd riders was a fantastic turn out with the changing weather.

Thanks to TK and Justin and all the others that normally remain nameless (who is the nice guy who always does call up?) for another brilliantly ran event.

Lots of stacks today, hope everyone heals ok.  Andrea has an egg the size of a lemon on her inner thigh and is now wrapped up on the sofa getting lots of sympathy... but i think she'll be back for more.b

Big Kev - buy some bloody armour will ya!

Anyone got any piccies?

many thanks to all who braved the elements today.big thanks to the oatens.sharon for finish line and moto sheets, matt for bossing the finish line and nick for lending out his bike to a hersden local.without the constant help we always get from visiting riders and their families it would make the day very much more difficult indeed.
hope you liked the tweeks to the jumps.had a lot of falls today but no one seemed to blame us so its all good.hope your all not to sore in the mornings.three massive stacks one after another ,on the first doubles was mad.
lots of fun and games and well done to everyone, especially in the interval when everybody seemed to be aware of what was going on around them.did'nt need to get out my pram to much which means the younger ones are learning what is safe and whats not. :4_17_5:
i think the amount of stacks is testament to just how competitive the younger classes are getting.as well as a couple of looneys in o/s and cruiser. :LolLolLolLol:
once again a fantastic day and thanks for coming.justin.

just got a text from tony,3 way tie for the lead in 5 and unders between angel, reece and lucas.mad or what.

Another top day's entertainment at Hersden as always thanks to TK, Justin and the gang (Crooch - that's Terry who runs the Youth Club on call-up) .  Just shy of 90 riders is really something and when you looked around the crowd you could count a few more that could have been racing but chose not to.  Great to see Ratty out again in OS and hope his ankle is OK after they check him out at A&E at Darent Valley - I'm sure he or Nikki will post up later.  Not quite sure about the lips on the second straight jumps as they do tend to launch you and old farts like me pitch into the next transition but hey, ho that's progress and I guess I ought to learn to jump properly.  Good to see the 'painted lady' Nick Cox back out again and doing his best to catch Dan Pullen in Masters.  If I'm still around Kent for the next meeting then I'll see you all there but if I've gone to Cornwall then wayhay!!  Humps

know what your saying about the lips humps, but the kids need to find their feet and jump the things.once the kids got used to them they loved them as the lips give them the confidence to have a go at them, when they might not have tried them before.now when they go to other tracks they'll know what it feels like to be in the air.this is the thinking behind it and if we had had a load of complaints we would have mellowed them out.they seemed to deal with and if the wind had been normal you would have seen loads of kids having a go at them.the track is getting loads of use by locals at the moment so they will mellow naturally anyway.we got some more tweeks planned, the step up on the 3rd straight is being built up asap.expect nice lips on that as well.we ar'nt gonna kill anyone though and the track will always be "for the kids" the learn and progress.

What a great day yet again at fab Hersden, you guys really do put on a fantastic family day, we all had a ball :4_17_5:

We just got back from A & E, Tony has a posible fracture inside the foot/ankle joint but a specialist is looking at the X Rays on Tuesday to clarify.  For now it's a few days with his feet up and hobbling around on crutches and avoiding me giving him a lethal injection  :LolLolLolLol:

Massive thanks once again to all those who came today. Big thumbs up to those who helped me with the moto sheets . Sharon for looking after the finish line and keeping the area clear (You too Matt). Terry for call up and all others who mucked in.
This is turning out to be our biggest year with  96 riders for round one and 90 today.
Hope everyone who crashed out today is ok. Lewis , Andrea and especially Kev, the guy could hardly breathe after the O/S crash and still won the Cruiser final......MENTAL

See you all on Father's Day June 21st

Just back from the hospital and a bollokking of Nik,,lol

Foots bloody sore and I gotta go back next week, but at least they cant find a break at the mo.

I gotta say I really missed the action in the last 12 months, and although I stacked twice today I loved being on my favourite little track.

Sorry for stacking it Nik, it was Billys fault.

Gonna cost me a bloody fortune as I havent got any sick pay left, have to get back to walking sharpish
