Anyone know what year it was built as in the 90's I found it hard to believe that we never discovered it in the 80's as it looked like it had been an awesome track in its day.
Yeah think the track was there from early 83 ish, used to go there every saturday with the lads when i was 8 , i loved it [/Yeh your right , it might even have been 82 we used to go down the odd sat , catch the train from carlisle and bike to the trackeven crossing the dual carriageway [dodgy] cos we couldn't be arsed going round by eamont bridge it was a cracking little track tho for some reason i thought you used to come with us steve , but obviously you didn'tdid you ever do the trips to pontins track at heysham now that was a bit of a trek from morcambe on a bmx
I dont remember ever going to penrith track in the 80's Chris but yeah I spent loads of time at Pontins in the early days as my olds used to stay on the caravan site there, I used to race on my performer with mags on.Only ever raced there once , mainly went down just for the day in the school hols in about "82" and played about on the quarter pipethere would be me , eddie , pepi , ewan, john No 1 (no not mr smooth )and i think renny went and a couple of otherswe would get the train to lancaster and then on to morcambe and then bike up to pontins, happy days.and i think i only raced a couple of times at penrith and once at Hamonds but least said about that track the better [ fooking councils]
Does anyone fancy trying to get it back up and running as the same old shool track, just the way it was set up
The council flatterned it about 5 or 6 years ago..........tossers!It was built in the very early 80s.Macky, I met you back in 97. I worked with Graham and the lads from oasis at the time.Justin who you mentioned works in KMB as a michanic, cant get him near a BMX now tho!
