Oldschool Frame with N/S forks ?

Ok guys I know this can be done and I'm sure there was a thread about it but I can't find it.

I would like a how to - For 1 1/8 forks into an O/S frame.

you need to put all the ball bearings loose into the cups with grease  then affix the rest.

i have better luck when i used the bigger ball bearings from a newer school headset
the smaller old school ones had a tad of slap   so try to find a newer race to pop the bearings from.

i've done this recently after seeing someone on here did it. can't find the thread but basically i put tioga beatrap 2 cups in the old frame got a unsealed 1 1/8th headset, took the bearings out of the cages, loads of grease in the cups, bearings in then used the rest of the 1/18th headset to finish off.

You also need to watch which cups you use as some of the more heavy duty jobbies wont allow the larger steerer tube through, beartrap 2 cups work well  :daumenhoch:

yep i was told beartrap 2 cups would be best.
