Woo-Hooo! I'm havin a good friday
« on: April 10, 2009, 02:13 PM »
It was lost in the wilderness (my Dads shed) for fifteen years but I've found it, my JT Body Armour  :smitten:

This stuff saved my skin and bones countless times BITD.

I might even be tempted into battle again now I got protection  ;) watch out MADD DOGG & Co  ;D

Cool find Paul , I used the front only version bitd  ;)

I used it mainly to try and protect my collar bones. I'd broken one playing rugby and the other one when I went OTB while practising up Ayton Quarry. Didn't want to re-brake them and it did the job well.

That is a great piece of safety equipment.

I'm a big believer in safety equipment. I help dig jumps at Great Ayton Quarry, the majority of youngsters who come to ride wear no safety gear, there's no way I'd let a child of mine ride without helmet, gloves and pads. I hate to see them leave their skin on the floor but what can you do?

Thanks, I've certainly enjoyed looking at the pictures on your thread Dennis  :4_17_5: so I'm very happy that you like my photos. The rest of my Pro racing pictures are on this thread  :)

Hello Mrs.Ratty,

I thought it looked ok and it was mostly very comfortable to wear, I used to completely forget about it. Occasionally your chest would get a painfull little nip between the arm piece and the breast plate but apart from that it was great. You could have a major smash and get up laughing  :4_17_5:

Yea the irrepressible Flemdog was one of one the main protagonists BITD. I was a bit surprised to find he's still racing but I'm not at all surprised that he's still kicking butt out there  :daumenhoch: One of my mates from half a lifetime ago and someone I really enjoyed racing against, a living legend of British BMX  :Great_Britain:

It's not in bad condition, I was thinking of getting the VIM out but then every scrape and blemish tells a story so I think I'll leave it as is. Could be a grain of Redcar track embedded in there somewhere. My dads shed is something special, who knows what other treasures might be lurking there.

Cheers,

I would have been an NBMXA National No1 and British Champion if I hadn't been shot down by the Shooter  :tickedoff:

Had to make do with second but hey the best man won so I aint complaining, and  Geth was the very best BITD IMO.
