Most people seem to have first generation HLTs, why is that?

Are the second generation more rare or just not as desirable?

for me the classic DB's are the large gussets with the holed block behind the bottom bracket.

large gusset is more desirable as it was the original turbo, small gusset was released in 84 i think, but if you cant make your mind up like me  just get one of each
