So what is it with Blue Tuffs ????
« on: April 02, 2009, 05:23 PM »
..... Postman finally dropped mine off this morning - got my hands on some after what feels like forever ! Ended up getting a pair on US ebay (metal coaster hub rear and placcy hub front so probs around '85 ish) wanted a set of all alloy jobbies but after seeing a set go on UK ebay a while ago for around 140 quid that were pretty well faded I settled for these which i thought were a bargain at 85 quid all in posted from the states
The original ebay listing had a crap description and the piccies were crap too - he hadn't even cleaned them so looked worse than they were and the sprocket covered the rear hub pretty well so maybe people thought they were a used all placcy new set  :-\
So what is it with blue tuffs ? Are they that much in demand ? Or were they not very popular BITD hence not too many around ?  ???
Anyways - glad I've finally got a set and after a scrub with some hot soapy water I'm well happy with my 85 quids worth  8) :

I think your right they were around bitd but blue and red tuffs never seemed that popular in the uk, black and yellow were in abundance due them being stock on Burners and white seemed to be the most popular.
I have been thinking who ran blue tuffs bitd and there's not many tbh, Craig Campbell ran blue tuffs on his prolite and streetbeat flatland bikes and Ron Wilkerson ran blue tuffs on his chrome performer.

Good find..passed on my blue alloys to Meticus and they look sweet on his gen1.
I only knew 1 person BITD with blue alloy tuffs these where on a gen1 frameset as well.
Weird thing with blue tuffs they don't photograph very well for some strange reason...maybe I ned to change my 10mm instamatic camera. :LolLolLolLol:

i don't think they took the colour particularly well, as most of em looked faded even when new!  :LolLolLolLol:
