As some of you will know, our start gate mechanism has been feeling a little sick recently so it is getting sent back to Mr Phil T, who makes them, for a general overhaul and upgrade to 'random' sequence. Hopefully we'll have it back in time for our race on 7th June. If there are any problems I will let everyone know.

i've been out there a couple of times, its not a touch on how it was back in the eighties. it's as marc says, three sets of doubles made from scotland's rockiest soil.

some of the locals have been entrusted with tools on the agreement that they keep in 'maintained', and it's never been maintained anytime i've been there, although, i would only work on it 10 minutes before i wanted to ride if i had jumps in a large public park. it's a shame because it could be fun if there was a large group there.

What about Thurs tho, anybody goin?.....and more importantly anybody bringing any NS bikes for me to try B4 I buy - Davey U got ur cranks sorted on the One XXL yet!

Fear not, I have a set of shiny 180mm Flights for Davie's bike. And theses ones have left and right pedal threads

He's collecting them on Wednesday. I'll be over if the weather's decent. I might bring the Mongoose just for a change, I've not been on it since MK08 I think

I'll bring the ONE for you to play on though Brett!

As the KH said I am sorted with the cranks . Should get them today. Even if I dont go on Thurs I am sure I can trust u with my One ..... God knows it needs a run round the track.

Excellent Davey, how many laps before I complete the HP agreement that's required to buy a ONE - Are you goin tomorrow - heatwave expected in scotland from Thurs!

Kenny u got a price on the complete ONE bike - just for a larf!

Obviously I would be happy to endorse their products by wearing the (free) race top at all Scottish Nationals (Clydebank Track Races) that comes with the bike!!

Don't think he is connected yet, but Kenny & I will be there. Nae gate though

but that means less time messing about (let's face it, you're never going to beat me out the gate

) and more time on the rest of the track. Plus no setting up and taking down for Kenny

What's it cod? CumberNOD - either head to the track at nod or Gogo's trails in EK to learn to jump again.

Gogo, are there any easy trail sections - knowing you there probably all lethal to the average OSer

well tbh, anyone that hasn't ridden trails much wouldn't find them much fun.

sid is 6ft 2" and that set is 17ft approx. you can't roll through these jumps.

theres some more pics on my blog if anyone is interested.

i think the barshaw jumps would be a good re-entry to jumping for some o-s'ers brett, sesh there?

count kenny s and me in for wherever were going. I sent the gate stuff this afternoon for delivery tomorrow to Phil T. spoke to him earlier he reckons he should be able to get it back for the next race. so until then let go somewhere different.

Davey and I checked out Cambusbarron trails just outside Stirling today. Some pretty decent jumps of various sizes, so something for everyone. Nice transitions but the surface is a bit loose, which makes stopping a wee bit difficult on a bmx. Davey ended up in the trees a couple of times and i came damn close too!

If the weather is good next Saturday I was planning on going back, if anyone else fancies joining me. Met some MTBers up there and they were a decent bunch, dead friendly and welcoming. No photos from today but, as a taster, here's a couple I found on flickr of Drew Sowerby over one of the bigger sets...

and here's some grainy footage I found on youtube...
