i'm after a couple of silent freewheels, ones that don't make the clicking sound as you ride.

Have I got a chance?

Any ideas please chaperoons?  :)

Good old fashioned freewheel yeah?  Not a cassette hub, because they have to be noisy to be safe...  As the others said, a Shimano is your best bet - then run some oil into the innards and it will shut right up, exactly how I ran mine   :daumenhoch:

...i'm always uneasy with silent freewheels I think a nice loud click is reassuring! Coasters are pretty quiet!

wouldn't a coaster be silent because there's no pawls in there?

Yeah, coasters and freecoasters are silent, apart from that crunch when you fall off  :daumenhoch:
I see you stand like greyhounds in the slips,
Straining upon the start. The game's afoot:
Follow your spirit, and upon this charge
Cry 'God for Harry, England, and Saint George!'
