Not sure if this should be in here but,

I got a Park Tools CT-5 chain tool from Hellfrauds and my chain doesn't fit in it, are there different sizes of tools?
I just presumed they were all same. It says it's for Derailleur-equipped road and mountain bikes.

I would imagine that those type of chains are a fair bit thinner than a bmx ones, the derailleur type chains are for multi geared bikes so need to be thin to fit on to the rear cogs

NS shadow interlocks don't fit either, I've got an old one filed out for mine.

Try your local bike shop, they might have one that fits

better with the CT3 type dave more durable and easier to use. however you can use that one with a BMX chain if you know how

see how the chain is currently positioned in this pic with the chain against the back of the tool. well move the whole chain forward onto the first pegs so the back rest against the second pegs and jobs a good un. note the distance between the pegs is greater than the pegs and the back for wider chain. easy when you know how eh!

unless you using one of the super chunky new school chains and then your fooked, and need one of the bigger CT7 tools.

i do know how, that's how i got the link out but there's no support for the bottom outer plate and it would have bent if I just put it straight through.

swapped it in halfords for their own cheaper one, cheers anyway
