bb spindle..help!

which way round does this go?long threaded end on the chain wheel side or the other way?also why do the crank arms not go all the way on the shaft as i'm getting quite a gap,can just see in piccy,any help mucho appreciated,jason....

The chainring side is the end with the spigot.Not sure about other question.

Your cranks shouldn't tighten up all the way on the spindle, as it's tapered so that as you tighten the bolt the pressure grips the crank if that makes sense.

ok,cheers marty,i had about 3/8" gap showing on the non drive arm side,sorted it now and the bb boot hides the rest   :daumenhoch:
