Can New School aluminium race frames be stripped off their paint, and polished?

i mean, so that it looks like chrome?

ALSO, can aluminium frames be taken to get chrome plated?

as i heard that the chrome doesn't stick  :shocked:
any ideas?

i wouldn,t get it chromed as it tends to flake off after a while due to oxidisation,heres pics of my ripper i polished a couple of years ago 8)

what would i have to do after i have stripped the paint off then?

Polish it and lacquer it?

Anyone know if SBD would simply clearcoat it?

its just polished,i wouldn't get it clear coated as it will only flake off ;)

But if i dont clear coat the frame wont it go dull?
and would it rust?

I would leave it bare. You can always give it a quick polish if it goes a bit dull. I've got a Ripper as well and have carefully filed a few scuffs out of it.

dont laquer it it will flake after a while leave it bare and you can polish with tcut and it wil bling like a pimp :laugh:
