Spines!
« on: February 19, 2009, 08:49 AM »
Dead keen to get my ass over a spine (successfully).

Can do the Volcano at Corby reasonably well now but still not getting as much air over it as I would like.

What do I need to focus on to progress from this to doing spines comfortably?

yeah Barnaby, two minis with a spin between but a volcano to one edge if that makes sense.

Pickle: i'm some way off considering a spine, today I'm hoping to peg stall or grind one though, you have to get it right as there's no where to put your foot down. lol.

fooking love a spine me, can't get enough.

For me, the only way over them to start with is straight over to flat on the other side, that's the mental barrier of getting over it done, then you can work on your technique.

Jumped my first spine in '92 at leigh-on-sea, straight to flat, bars slipped the works

Evamedia - nice one - my big thing is getting over and wanting to be as close as I can to the coping coming down the backside but just going for flat could be the way forward!!! Just need a small one to try it on...

... hold on there is a 2ft Spine near my house!!! BONUS!

2 Fukin foot!  ;D

Thats not a spine, thats a crease for fuks sake.
It will do you no good learning on that bro, its not preparing you for a real mans spine in any way.  :-\

3 and a half to 4 is ideal for learning on.

just my 2 bobs worth like  :daumenhoch:

I love spines, bigger the better, more air time!If you have never done one it can be pretty scary at first. Its nothing like the volcano at Corby, that you can just ride over.If you try to just ride over a decent size spine your gonna ditch it.Is there a spine at creation? If so bushwacked its spine o clock lol

Yeah - theres a spine and a big (compared to Corby) volcano with a narrow top and an even bigger volcano.

spines are awesome, but scary, no time for daydreaming

and need such a different technique to how we used to ride bitd

watch MrAtkins on a spine, bonkers

and if you can get the hang of pulling your feet up and tuicking a bit its cool.

I find carving them very very difficult (ie I cant do it...)
