help seting up my bike?
« on: February 16, 2009, 11:43 PM »
just need a few pointers really on bike setup as i havent really been into racing much untill now
is there any way to make the bike feel shorter without changing the frame eg difrent bars/stem/cranks/seat ect
the back wheel is already slamed and im still having trouble geting a decent manual throu some long double's
it may be down to my lack of practice over the years or lack of arm strength  :LolLolLolLol: just wondering if anything could help me allong the way.

:) Changing bar position can help,or a shorter reach stem.

might be wrong, now-a-days, but bitd for manuals...longer reach stem and wider bars would give me more pull to get the front end up, and obviously work on where your body is positioned over the centre of gravity i.e over bottom bracket, or slightly back, slamming the rear gives a shorter rear, so should be easier to get up, but may make it twitchy in the corners......

but like i say thats going on set-up 22 years ago???

I've noticed slamming in the rear does make it very twitchy... especially in the wet
