Jason (RADBMX ID = mixjp) has been on RADBMX since August 07 and attended MK08 on the saturday but hasn't posted much (5 posts in 1.5 years)!! 

So I have taken it upon myself to Introduce Jason!!   I hope he doesn't get too embarrassed by all the attention!! 

He started a Thread asking about Freestyle BMX Issue 21 which has an article about the 1985 Amateur Freestyle Championships in Bristol.

Anyway Jason came in Joint 24th place (with Greg Guillotte in Joint 26th Place) and Macky came in 1st with the Under 14's 



Anyway Jason sent me some piccys, so I thought I would show them :-

Jason stopped riding in 1988 after breaking his legs in a motorcycle accident

Jason is now does some DJing on the side and has offered to do some DJing as MK09 (or at least a set if you have a DJ sorted)!!

He must be quite well known on here.   He was about 15 in 1985!!

I dont know if he rides these days due to smashing his legs up but he went to MK08 and really enjoyed it!!

He works in the Aerospace industry and he's a good DJ on the side too!!

The white 86 Haro, is my new bike. It's taken me since last August (since I went to MK08) to get everything for it. It's the don. I'll post more pics when I get round to it.
Don't worry guys, I always look at this site, it makes me feel 15 again. lol

And just to make everyone jealous, just take a look at this little beauty

Here's a little bit of the spec:
85 Haro Master Frame, GT Santa Ana forks (Haro ones are too heavy), Single pinch flight cranks with Tioga power disc & suntour 44 tooth chain ring, Skyway Tuff II's, GT tyres, Odyssey calipers with tech 3 levers, Haro bars, DB mini stem, ODI mushroon II's, Odyssey gyro, Odyssey seat clamp, GT laid back post with a pretty dodgy BMX seat and I think that's about it. The pedals are crappy Wellgo, but I'll be changing them as soon as I am allowed (you all know how women can be). She still moans at me that it's still in the house. Like I'm gonna put it in the garage. As if.......................

And to answer the question "Do I still ride?" Well that's a sore point. My knee has more metal in it than the average Japanese car due to an accident but I do still like messing around. I was riding my brothers Ripper at MK08. I only went on the Saturday, as I was working that night.

The ramp, well................................. These are old pictures from 1986 and sadly the ramp in no more. It was wiped out in the strong winds of 88. By that time my legs were in pieces, so it never got rebuilt. We spent 3 weeks solid building it, during the school summer holiday. It was a group of about 6 of us (oldest was only 16), that planned and built it. Not bad hey?

I agree, the 80's were so damn cool.

I made the fatal mistake of trying to relight the BMX candle. I should have known better with my leg.
