Whilst not as insane as hutch grips etc. This is still mega money for this - I bought a whole bike with a very nice condition gold stem on it for less money than this last year!!!!

Is it me or am I the only one who doesn't like the new ebay page layout??

Daz.
Do you know what "nemesis" means? A righteous infliction of retribution manifested by an appropriate agent. Personified in this case by an 'orrible cnut... ME!

You can switch it off - in the top right hand corner of your "my ebay" page there's a little bit of blue text that says "opt out" ....... Click it  :daumenhoch:

Its pretty much NOS mate, and for that reason, it will go for big prices.
If someone is building a part specific bike, and they want the said particular part to suit, or moreso to finish the build, then it's not unusual to see extreme prices.
Thats the way it is..

I only ask because Shaun's reply was very similar to the auction description .

It's not almost NOS and that's clear to see , it was'nt described honestly IMO . A well faded base , over polished alloy clamps now not showing any original cast marks as they did .

The base is a cool original base , the clamps could have been restored much better .

Big money though .
