Retro Cruiser info
« on: August 17, 2009, 09:42 AM »
Looking to get hold of a new retro cruiser but not really sure what to get, like the look of all the new kuwahara's and SE bikes but don't know much about how they ride etc.

Anybody got any advice on what the best one to go with would be? Or any bad reports of what to stay away from?

Cheers Dale

Which models in particular are you looking at and are you going to be racing/thrashing it or just using it for recreational purposes?

The SE's are probably a cooler bike to have for riding about purposes.

For the retro look the SE's offer great value off the shop floor, but Lazychubs has an outstanding Azuza for sale and you don't get better retro chic than that  :daumenhoch:.  Call Stodgy at the Rad shop for the low down on the SE's  ;).

Make your own, Look around for idea's. Mine started as a 2007 Proline.

I need to get some up to date pics as the cranks are now chrome and the chain ring is annodized red.
It got 3rd at MK Show and Shine this year in the NS Retro section.
Another lovely retro cruiser is    eloopnai   on here's ET Kuwie. It's worth doing a search for it.

I do have another redline cruiser which is for sale. It's a John Purse signature model from about 1999/2000.

Cheers for all the help fella's, It looks like i'm going to be able to get something through the bike to work scheme which is why i'm after a SE otherwise that azusa would have been mine.

I was originally thinking of a SE quad cruiser as I like the retro look and could have then changed the colour if I got bored but i've just seen on the net a Big Ripper which is apparently a 29" and i'm now tempted whether to go with that or whether it will look a bit too big?  :-\ :-\ :-\
