You know, I missed out on old school bmx the first time round, but just to watch these legends ride at this do would mean more to me than anything (almost).  I think I envy just about everyone here for being part of that the first time round, and curse my parents for shagging too damn early  >:D :-[

I am so looking forward to mk09 so I can make my admittedly lame mark on the bmx world (oap race, well race-ish)

Hope it all goes well for all the riders, Eddie.

Hi Eddie, good to see you on here. These Poms are nutters. LOL Good ones but.  :2funny:
Anyway, did you ever meet Jeff Watson? You and him were huge inspirations for me when I rode skateparks down here in Australia. I'm almost finished building a replica of Jeffs mongoose.
Did you know he has apparently passed away in the last few years? I'm still trying to confirm this. Very hard to do from down here.
Good to see your still riding too. I see the pics from Steve B from time to time and you still ride hard.
Cheers mate
Glenn

Here are a few old shots (excuse poor quality) from the Whickham Thorns (Gateshead) round of the Kellogs 84' series. This had to be one of the worst comp arenas you've had to ride on Eddie probs about 10m' x 20m' in the rain too. hahahaha and those ramps??? Anyways I missed a days school to be there and got to ride with everyone.

wow - I would simply love to be at that Kickstand reunion - sounds awesome, and a dream of mine to visit Woodward.
The Old Fools reunion roadtrips we do are great, so Im sure youll all have a superb time.Ours are for 30yr olds and over - where does the age 32 limit come form at the kickstand event?

Here's a thought, I was thinking about how many of these people attending have had such a huge influence on BMX and shaped the way it is today in auch a massive way that without them, we'd be nothing. I was thinkng of people like Greg hving to scrimp and save to buy a new school bike, and Andy waiting to get the bike he really wanted, etc etc...
Here's my thought - Take Eddie Fiola as an example - if I was the owner of one of the very successful BMX comapanies out there right now, and I had some complete bikes in my range, or custom built bikes, then I would not hesitate for ONE second to pay out of the company's pocket a free bike, or frame, or whatever the sopmeone like Eddie needed to keep riding, and I'd maintain that free flow for as long as he wanted to ride. People like Eddie and others of his kind deserve a little coomething back for helping create the BMX world we know so well today.
Im afraid I dont own a bike company, but Eddie, Greg, Andy, Voelker, DMC, Blyther, Dominguez etc etc etc etc etc if I ever do [!!] you know where to come for a bike!
perhaps Voelker still gets a GT flow, Im not sure, but I though tId use this as a talking point!

THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ;D

I just got an email,   It's going to be BIG    http://kickstandbmx.blogspot.com   I'll try to take some Pic's

WOW!!!!

WHAT A LINE UP!
Woodward is gonna be crazy if everyone on that list turns up. Would LOVE to be there and see that. And ride. Brilliant.

G

(Why is everything in March this year?!
I booked up for Old Fools at the end of this month a while ago.
Then Aileen wanted to take me to the Monaco Grand Prix for my fortieth - turns out it was cheaper to fly to Australia for the first race - flights, accomodation, tickets to the race - the lot - than it was for just the grandstand tickets for Monaco!!
Great - it's once in a lifetime - lets do it.
Hadn't checked the dates had we?
Clashed with Old Fools, which wasn't so bad, but then the economy REALLY turned to sh1t and we just shelved the idea - lot of money.
Then I see that this reunion is gonna be on in a fortnight and tonight's the first I've heard of it. Money would be an issue, but , probably like lots of other people here, I can't risk taking too much time off work at the moment to go to something like this in case I don't have a job to go back to.
Absolute bloody nightmare!

OF6 better be worth it   :LolLolLolLol: )
