Does a Judge have a stamped brake bridge?  Whats the difference between a Judge 1, 2 and a "hutchins" judge frame like the chrome one?
As far as I know, Judge1 and 2 came out around 84/85 and the Hutchins judge was an 88/89 model?  The chrome one doesnt have a serial number.
Here are some pics of some museum bikes, if anyone can identify which is a Judge 1/2 and which the last chrome one with blue and red decals is, this has a 20.5" TT?

and which is this one?  You cant see the brake bridge clearly, its a 20.5TT with red and blue Hutchins decals:

I'm sure that the Hutchins frame sets are the Judge II and date from 89, 90. That last chrome one you posted looks like the early Profile made frames, with the high seat stays, but I could not say for sure.

Hutch bikes aren't really my cup of tea, but this bloke knows a dodgy bike when he sees one...

Hope this helps mate

JUDGE 2
? Probably 19 or 19.5 inches. This bike is easy to spot because it doesn't have the Hutch logo pressed into the
brake bridge. Hutch was called Hutchins at this time. This bike also has extremely thick dropouts and an oversized top tube. Also, on both the Judge and the Judge 2 (and maybe the Hollywood? not sure) the top tube is not even with the seat stays where it welds to the seat tube. On these bikes it's slightly higher. The main differences between the original Judge and the Hollywood is that the original Judge has thicker dropouts and different geometry. I know the Judge bikes are slightly oval where the top tube meets the seat tube. It appears the Judge 2 frame was only made in 1990. The 91 catalog doesn't have it listed.

The Judge II. Here comes The Judge...again! The Judge II is a later version of the ever-popular Timmy Judge Hutch frame and fork. Heavy duty front and rear drop-outs, oversized top tube, an ovalized down tube, and 4310 chromoly.Heightstrength,low-weight (5lbs.12oz.)frame&fork in Pro and XL lengths.100% made in the USA. To read the test of the Judge II bike that was printed in BMX PLUS! issue October 1990,click on the link above!

According Mr.Coasterbrake from VBMX, none of the Judge II's had a stamped brake bridge. However, the first batch were made at the beginning of the "Hutch name lawsuit" and did come with the classic Hutch decals-including the "Judge series" seatstay decal in red-on-clear color combo. The earliest batch of Judge II's had the classic Hutch shape rear dropouts- kinda pointy at the ends. The later batches had rounded ends on the dropouts (a'la Profile shape). Actually, i was told by a Louisville Cycle rep that Profile was building some Hutchins products for them. I have a Hutchins cruiser that is exactly like a Profile in every detail except it doesn't have the middle tube in the front triangle.

Also, regardless of whether the name was Hutch or Hutchins at the time, none of the Judge II's were made under the "original" company ownership. They were all third generation...ie: 1) original Hutch 2) Taiwan generation 3) Louisville/Deltech generation.

In my opinion a real Judge frame was in white, but you could have them in different colors even in chrome.Later they made a Judge II frame. It was a refined version of the orginal Tim Judge signature series.

good luck mate :daumenhoch:

I missed it by 10 fkn dollars.  Ive learned now to enter my highest bid initially, left only enough time for 1 bid and was outbid literally within the last 5 or so seconds..  and to think Ive got NOS Judge 2 forks.  I dont think ill ever see another NOS one.  the white one above was advertised for stupid money.  $510 is really nothing for a frame of that caliber and rarity and its NOS  -  I feel like crying!    :'( :'(

it annoying when things like that happen as i had the chance for a trickstar prototype and turned it down as short of cash and that was cheap ie £300 but then it was when most hucth`s would not even sell for over £200.
