as long as its 118mm any american sealed BB should be okey?, but has anyone any suggestions as to which I should use, price is of course the driving factor here,
but I dont want to buy something that will blow up and grind bearings the day after I mount them...also are there chromoly cranks as light as aluminum? or would I
have to spend a small fortune for some tubular? Im 5'!0" and 155 pounds, and I tend to wreck aluminums, right at the bolt, I get horid squeeking sometimes, and
to end it, Ive restorted to cutting up my coke can and shaping a shim out of it by wraping it around the spindle end. works for awhile, but obiviously the problem only
gets worse. Maybe I should just stick to single pieces, as Ive rarely bent them, and they cant be that much heavier than a cheap chromoly 3pc right? well, thanks for
any ideas, m.

:) Probably light, but a chromo 3 pc or a decent 1pc crank will be much stronger and you`ll have less chance of stripping out the pedal thread.Square taper bbs have a tendency to work loose and squeak. Also at 5"10 would think 170s maybe a bit too short?

Chainring looks non-replaceable too.

Stronglight did make some decent mtb cranksets BITD though.

I'm not sure I go for this on a BMX - if price is the defining factor you should be able to pick up a decent used  Sugino/Tioga OPC for £20-£30 on here or on the 'bay.

170mm you will have trouble, even with 44/16 they feel spinny as!
