Yellow loopy ripper...
« on: February 01, 2009, 03:08 PM »
So, 3 minutes ago I'm driving to the petrol station and I spot a yellow loopy ripper in the window of a car garage.  I didn't stop so I don't know if it's for sale or just for display but it's in Ringwood, Hampshire - opposite The Lamb pub.    Just thought I'd mention it...

Yeah, it's a 990 plate.  It looks like this guy just took over a Volvo garage in Ringwood and now sells classic sports cars, and this PK is in the window.   I think it's just for show.

Quite a thick plate, not sure how a 990 is set up but thought it had a bridge cable, looks like a bit like a pitbull :-\

Looks like he's set the AD up like you would a front AD brake, with the cable going straight into the side of the brake.  Also, I noticed he's got a pedal on the other side...he just took one off to zip tie the bike to the wall.   DX's maybe?

Next time I'm riding past and can look closer I will.

Bigger update, met the guy today as we were nearby dog walking so i killed two birds with one stone.

The guy Charlie has quite a few bikes, some in the garage, some at home which he is hoping to bring to the garage.

At home he has a Redline RL20, a Kuwhara Laserlite and a Mongoose pitbike. In his garage are these beautys below.

This is the chrome one that Steve could see.

Skyway Extra long.

The Loopy ripper

Oh and in the back room were these two, somebody maybe able to add a bit more info to the Haro Sport

I was given permission to take the photos and post them on here, he's hoping to join RAD a bit later, although he might also be an old member from a few years ago.
These were not his own bikes from BITD, he has had them for a fair few years though. His showroom is full of classic cars so he does have an interest in all things old.

Ohhhh, and all you lot interested in the loopy ripper, hard luck, he said he wouldn't sell for £1500 and he has been asked quite recently. Also he knows what he has here aswell.  ;)

Me personally, i want the skyway and Charlie wants a Quadangle. Hmmmm, trades perhaps.  :)

Did anyone spot the dodgey rebuild on the Torker DX's?
They have been stripped and rebuilt on the wrong spindles. Am I looking too closely?  :daumenhoch:
