like the size?

ie: mid, euro or spanish?

its the size of your BB shell.

i think its:

mid: same size as an oldschool BB, no threads

euro: smaller, threaded...maybe only one side? is this like a MTB set up?

spanish: small no threads.

hope this helps.

or i mgiht need correcting.

3 basic things to check.

1.  does it have cups that the bearing sit in?
2.  if it does, is the diameter closer to 2 inches than 1?
3.  Whats the name of your frame?

That'll get you started.  Me, I'd just ring Stodgy with the answer to question 3 and let him sort it out for me   :daumenhoch:

US = old school size which need bearing cups
MID = the same bearings but without the cups...they just press in the frame
Euro = threaded MTB style Bearings
Spanish = same as MID but smaller bearings

help any?

Someone will be along with an answer soon I'm sure.  My guess would be Mid or Spanish.  Give Stodgy a ring!  You don't have to buy owt off him if you don't wanna   ;)

Have you got it in bits?  If so, a mid bearing will have the serial number R12 on it somewhere, and it'll be around 1.25 inches in diameter.  A Spanish bearing is quite a bit smaller, and will look quite skinny to you.  Well, it does to me anyways....

OK, hands up! I feel like a complete muppet now...   :uglystupid2: :uglystupid2:

Was going to take a photo and post it up, had the cranks off anyway. So took the camera downstairs, cleaned the BB with a rag and noticed that on the side it clearly has the words "19mm Spanish BB".... DOH!

Cheers everyone for being so helpful!!!

Lara is travelling out with me, staying for the week and making her own way home. She's not snowboarded ever, no.  But she's very ballsy and if she can deal with the pain in the first 2-3 days, I reckon she'll be up and at em    :)

Keep your eyes peeled for Ski Sunday, they'll be in Val for sure.  I'll wave!!

 :LolLolLolLol:

The way I look at it, I'm sat here at home out of work, paying the mortgage in France.  I might as well go and sit over there at home out of work eh?

I'm actually really looking forward to this season, I've got lots of visitors so no time to sit and dwell on my misfortunes  :)

By the way, the chainring cleaned up really well and has hardly any wear at all on it.  got yerself a bargain  :)
