BOTY
« on: January 29, 2009, 04:17 PM »
Whats going on with it this year? I think its a better idea to have different sections for different styles...... BUT

Race bikes in with the freestylers.

I dont understand what some of the Replicas and Tribute bikes are meant to be. They look like stock off the peg numbers to me.

And there seems to be a fair few entries from people who I have never heard of. Bring something to the table all year round lads, its a bit off contributing nothing to the forum all year and then entering your bike in bike of the year  ::)

I was about to knock your block off !     :LolLolLolLol:

What ever we do will cause a bit of upset I think ! It's an open forum, however I agree there are some that contribute more than others and not at all ! However this will always be the case ! We could charge

There was the odd bike that crept into the wrong category - mainly as they were last minute entries and I had locked the thread as I was sorting the voting and then could not update it  ???

I have now managed to send all members an email to encourage the voting !

I am trying fella's

it's ment to be a bit of fun, nothing more. MK is the proper show and shine where bikes can be truly seen for what they are. nick's going to a lot of effort for this so we can have a laugh posting our builds in a competitive way, let's just enjoy it for what it is. Get your stuff polished for MK when we can see the wart's and all.

Hope thats not aimed at me  :2gunsfiring_v1:

:-[ Mine is a genuine replica and have been working on it for ages but only finished it in october i think. Did show it at the xmas party and it did pretty well IMHO.

I got most of the bits for it off here as well and quite a few people on here helped me out identifying bits.  :daumenhoch:

fair few votes there , but with 5646 members you'd think at least half of that would get involved with BOTY :-\

Yep wish I could have got involved Carl but I have far too many bikes unfinished :( By the end of Feb, basically all 5 of my bikes should be complete, that being 1 Haro Master, 2 x Gen 1 Haro's, 1 x Kuwahara Nova and if Phil can do his magic, then my TRM as well. But you know how it is... could be yet more delays  :LolLolLolLol:

i think it's been said already....but Nick posted many threads asking for ideas regards the BOTY and got fook all in return.

he took about 4 hours of his own time sorting it all out for YOU guys to submit your bikes and let others vote for em (if they likes it)

i guess what i'm saying is......the people who do all the work, do it in their own time, for the love of the sport, the love of this site and for you guys.......so please....have a little think sometimes before you critizise ('spelling)

i'm not having a go....just i know how hard Nick worked on it.

I am not criticising Gashead, it even says in my original post that my thoughts were nowt to do with the work he had done. I have read on here how long it takes him and applaud his efforts.

Calm down Rob  all is well  :daumenhoch:

Not an after though JT - I think a few admin were waiting for each other to do it and we had crossed wires  :daumenhoch:

Stodgy is usually the man who sorts it but is a tad busy wiyj the shop and plans for upcoming events !

No secret bike comp mate - that would be rather sad ! And even if there was I and many others would not agree to it - let me assure you  :daumenhoch:

I will do another thread after BOTY and get your thoughts - lets hope I get a reply this time  ;)

and thanks for the positive feedback - That really means a great deal to me  :4_17_5:

Actually it`s usually me that does it, but due to family matters I just never had the time this year, and believe me it does take some time to put it all together too  :daumenhoch:

I see you stand like greyhounds in the slips,
Straining upon the start. The game's afoot:
Follow your spirit, and upon this charge
Cry 'God for Harry, England, and Saint George!'
