I want to polish my helmet...
« on: January 27, 2009, 12:44 PM »

It's right dull so needs a good shining.

But what can I use?

I have a fairly new 661 helmet but it needs a clean on the outside.  No probs there and I'll just use a damp cloth and water.

I want to give it a protective coat afterwards though so it gleams and also so mud doesn't stick as easily.

Part of me just wants to give it a coat of car polish or wax.  I was thinking the autoglym super resin or something?

Does anyone know what I could use or what I absolutely shouldn't use?

Ta.

Bit of vaseline on your helmet will stop any shit sticking to it.

I always find insisting on a good wash before hand sorts that one out.

is it a matt coated finish or fiberglass style? as my 661 strike would look shite if i cleaned it with anything but soapy water and a rag due to the matt finish
