« on: January 26, 2009, 09:24 PM »
Anyone know of any way to remove the Hard Ano off them. Apart from taking then to a plater to remove it.

I've tried:

Media Blasting. Will work but just worried its a bit harsh

Oven Pride.........pointless

Was about 10 mins each rim, but constantly kept them turning in the thick of the oven pride and using my thumbs to rub it in.

I had a real bad time with my Pro cass 3's

Oven brite in the bag

kept going back to them every 10 mins for about 40 mins , nothing happening hardly

so left them for about another 40 mins , patchy as hell still ano on in parts and just started to pit  away at the rims
,,, gutted to say the least as these rims only had minimal brake rub on the rear only and front was like NOS  :crazy2:

I'd advise you to agitate it as much as possible  wih a brillo or equivelant
rather than let any type of acid do the work as the coating really is unbelievably hard  on the Pro class 3 's  :-\

120 minuted in the costic and the y will be proclass superlite 1 1/8 sideless. be carefull with the stuff and do it outdoors. 5 mintues tops or they will get melted. works every time though.

If your not totally sure i would have a word with paul or mark at cca. It seems they were withdrawing there services just before christmas. They may have reconsidered from what i gather now.
I went over to take some stuff a few month ago and paul showd us the whole set up. We got talking about possibilites. Hard anno in particular, he said hard anno is a lot more resistant to wear than normal which is why your haveing trouble. Seems it actually strengthens the item which is probably why they started using it on the proclass :daumenhoch:
