Haro freestyler forks

Realistically, how strong were these dropouts on the forks?  They look like they'd fold pretty easily - very small and thin

The forks that came on the 90s models look much stronger, I had a 91 master like this and it lasted a few years before eventually breakin the frame in 3 places from 1 jump - but the fork dropouts were fine!

Depends how smooth a rider you were. I dont recall anyone breaking Haro forks BITD but a few frames cracked.

I agree, Iv seen bent Haro forks, but never snapped

Seen Haro gen 1 forks where the whole drop out is split like a kipper for sale on the bay a while ago.
Unsure about the Anlun masters never owned one..ones on my gen 2 look thick and beefy..I think most early haro's would snap in the wind compared to modern bikes..so come down easy

There's a picture floating about with, i think, Hoffman riding a later frame but running the early forks.

never had a problem with early haro forks , i twisted a few sets of late haro forks . only fork`s  i always bent were redline

i had a 91 ground master - forks lasted until i sold em- frame i snapped at the the twin toptube / headset junction.

the older haro drops were crap- snapped em off  the fork leg on a few pairs- 86/ 87 / 88 models. still got the dropout of one somewhere . i'll try & find it the weekend.

The older forks were strong, but if you used them with axle pegs for a long time, they could start to crack along the crease where the dropout attaches to the forks.

Dave  (from the Faze 7 Trick Team) ran early Haro freestyler forks on his PK Ripper, but they bent pretty quickly. I remember going over to Bristol to the importers for Haro & SE (Shiners) to get my quad replaced, and they refused to exchange his forks for new ones. They said something about them not being covered for doing tricks !

He ended up fitting GT Performer forks, because they were effectively a Bottema fork, and never had any more problems.

We got sponsored by Haro in '85, and ran the original sport frame & fork. Never had anything bend or crack on them though. I still ride my Sport now and they are as true as they were BITD.

What kind of riding were you thinking of putting them through ? I'd expect them to be fine for most stuff.
