I've just had a look at the BCF website.............I’m confused....

Ok so I've never had a licence I a new member and 35 years old so what’s the minimum it’s going to cost for a licence so I can race regional’s nationals etc..... I tried it twice and came up with two different costs  :uglystupid2:
I might actually build a bike this year instead of just hoarding parts :)

I think you only need a gold one if planning to do internationals.

We worked out last time after mucho confusion that to race Regionals in the Summer (not winter) then you need a Silver (and no need for a race license)

Do you still need to buy a race license if you want to race any Nationals?

their website is wank for subscription/renewal

I gave up on online renewals for my two and sent them off by post after printing the forms off (and the following day some nice printed renewals turned up in the post!!).  Thankfully we don't do Nationals but it still worked out expensive for renewing Matt's licence at Silver level even though he's an impoverished student.  Humps

you dont need a license.you only need to buy a silver MEMBERSHIP.this will entitle you to race regionals and the brits.you will have to buy a license to race nationals though.its about £66 for both.£34 for membership only.

Thats what I thought for OS which is Regional and Brits ONLY!

I was just wondering about the Nationals, for those people who want to do Cruisers etc, etc while still doing OS at Regional level!!

Thanks :daumenhoch:

well.....if i can take in the info...his membership is £8, so that'd be two washes, but if i tell him its the same price as mine could get all summer.....only trouble is i have to do it again after him :'(

is my understanding right.........for regionals and brits ONLY.....silver membership needed but race lisence not required???????

Neil, if he stays Novice as i understand it he doesnt needs a license, however, last year there were no novice classes at the Brits so would need a license and would have to race expert.

As i understood it to race regionals and brits u need a silver member ship to bcf  and race license, this will also allow u to race nationals.  Under 12's/16's i think get their 1st license free?

But i'm confused too, glad we're not renewing, it's a bloody minefield  :2funny: :2funny:

Lad will be fine as a novice, no license required :daumenhoch:

Regionals, nah mate, for various reasons we've decided to have a break this year, some i'm sure u'r aware of, the other being my ex husband threatening to snatch the kids at races, think it's best we avoid   :(

Re your license, i've always had silver membership and a race license, i gotta be honest tho there's so much conflicting info (bcf cant even sort their membership out, why did we think the olympics would be different :LolLolLolLol:).  I'd check which club u'r affiliated to, if they have go ride status i think license is free 1st year, then pay after that.  In all honesty i'd write a list of q's n call BCF :daumenhoch:

Sorry not more help mate, it seems some peeps have been paying one amount and some the other  ???
