Old School Pictures - Mainly North East BMX Racing
« on: February 02, 2009, 11:51 AM »
First the disclaimer...

My dad didn't have a very good camera, he wasn't a good photographer and he didn't take many pictures.

So this is it - everything I have from BITD broken down into Teesside Airport, Herlingshaw Indoor Racing, other North East tracks, My Randoms.

If you spot yourself, let me know.

 :)

Teeside Airport

Me jumping the doubles at Teesside.

My sister having a go.

?

?

?

?

Marc Thompson - best mate BITD and probably still best mate now.

?

?

?

?

Me on the pyramid.

?

Me again on the pyramid.

?

?

?

Tim March? at Teesside National

?

?

?

?

Me again - pyramid.

?

?

?

Herlingshaw Indoor Racing

?

?

Me after a moto.

?

Me winning a moto.

On the start gate.

?

Back of the gate.

?

Other North East

Margrove Park - Guisbrough (Magra) - Me and Marc Thompson.

I think... Magra and Allan Johnson?

Start gate at Magra - me and Marc Thompson.  I remember we were killing each other that day in the Motos - his Dad was going mental.  I took the win that day.

Southbank?

Me at Magra??

Ha ha - Rufforth?  A god awful indoor race in a horse training school on soft dung with no berms!!  :LolLolLolLol:

Randoms

The highs!  Check out Tim March's autographed card on the wall.

The lows.

Where it started.

Keeping it Gangsta

Well, despite the not quite David Bailey standard shots your old man still managed to capture some great shots..Marchy flying out front, the Ammaco Mongoose Team chilling,Pete Middleton, one or two of the Jarvis clan and one of the Llewellyn brothers...
Think the guy sat on the Ammaco van in Raleigh pants & Nikes is Brad Smith.

Thanks for posting those  :daumenhoch:

I remember him wearing it - a weird baker boy foam hat - the kids (me included) all thought he was mad.

Could be the first track - I just can't remember going anywhere but the North East - apart from Three Sisters once.

The picture feels like a national - 10s age class.

Excellent pics Alistair!!!

Some great memories. I remember the airport was buzzing the national weekends. Especially when the US CW team turned up, Pistol Pete Loncaravic & co.

Them ones of you and Marc take me back. Think I remember you two racing up a year at southbank one club meeting, and both beating me  ;)

Yep, that's me at Magra on my MCS Magnum 2000 - still got the frame, box cranks, Hutch cages and Pro-tec Eliminator II helmet in the garage 8)

Nice one!

Allan

You always had some tasty bikes.

Shame my dads pictures are better of everyone else than me!

See you soon on the gate.
