found a survivor
« on: January 21, 2009, 03:45 PM »
found this today, working round someones house and spotted it sat in their garage, its been there since they moved in so easily persuaded them to sell it- £10.00 quid, all original still and not bad condition . should clean up a treat with the coke and foil technique.
sorry if the pics are a bit big, havent used it for a while.
does anyone know what year ?

Cor, Raymond Peter cycles, aint heard that name for 20+ yrs.

I think, now sawzall will correct me if i'm wrong, they were at the bottom of East street in Southampton in one of the arcades near Debenhams. They had a large unit on the first floor and Mongoose and Ammaco were their main bikes.

Went a long time ago, late 80's i reckon.
One build a year, the only way to get it right. No rushing involved.

That sticky is in the tech + resto section, I done the step by step stuff on my Gen 1 Haro. Looking at this closely, I reckon it'll come up really well. Lovely find again mate  :)

Got to be one of the best finds for a long time. I to think it will come up a treat, you going to leave it as it is after a good clean and polish?

I love those Ammaco Freestylers.  BITD, a lad round our way had an Ammaco and it was the first twin top tube I ever saw.  Loved them ever since.

Thats a later one isnt it without the cut out on the gusset (too many cracked).  87 ish sounds reasonable.
