Quick Gearing question

for a 12t rear cog, what should i run up front?

okay......my next question then, as i've only got a 30 or a 28 front sprocket.......can i change the rear cog for any cog or does it have to be the specific type for the hub?

Depends on the hub...some can be changed, and most suppliers give the option of different drivers.

Hmmmmm spoke to cyclesport and they inform me that they're a git to change......looks like i'll have to go a little bigger on the front then

i run 28/10 but i understand 25/9 is quite common now.

obviously you want something that won't twat the coping too easily...that said BITD they were using 40t +  on ramps weren't they?

30/12 give a ratio of 2.50

on 20"x1.95" rear.

It will make in spinny...but what are you going to use it for? Shops?, Ramps? Parks?

It will be a bit easier on the pedalling than a standard 44-16 feeling gearing. Anyway mate, i`m assuming you`re the guy that called me this morning? If you want to give me a quick call i think i might have a solution for you as i`ve just come across a few spare Prolite Drivers that we could fit a 10t on if that would be better for you?

Stodgy, the ratio is the same, no matter what size wheel or tire.
The wheel/tire size will change the distance traveled per crank rev.

Niks dad Webbwood on here is the KING of gearings, crank length, tyre pressure, tyre sizes etc, could get Niks gearing to whithin 1/8th of a difference to change the bike and performance.
