What about this - BMX Products (mongoose) manufactured rampar - been through all the rampar / raleighs in our museum and on bmxmuseum.com and in the BMX products section on there as well and can't see a single one. There's a selection of the other rarer BMX products frames up there such as the mototrac, JAG, RACER-X etc. but not this rampar ? There are other rampar frames up there that are similar with the gusset but not the same - note the looptail and also the mongoose-esque box section behind the BB - I know it was more than likely US only so doubt we've got one over here but anyone ever seen one of these ?

Bobafett,

Last year I was bidding on a complete bike with tuffs and flites, didn't win got sniped at not much north of $600.

In a similar vein this one will be difficult to find, only 4 made by the Special Products Development Unit (SBDU) of Raleigh, that said one was on the bay late last year and may have been the one I have a picture of below

$600 for the full bike doesn't sound bad at all - maybe not so rare then ? Or just not in demand....hmmm

Not that i'll be saving up for one any time soon  :LolLolLolLol:
It's more of an off shoot interest for me with it being tied into mongoose - but you never know....one day when i've got all the others ticked off the list !

a magic loft and or tunnel. you go up there and you can get any NOS frameset or part you want. couple of chaps on here have had them, but they wouldn't share. come to think of it, they could have been lying. I still want one though.

no they are still NOS. the moment you take them back off, then they are just another used bmx artical.

Interesting? :)

Dont wanna go off the subject but does that mean if you build a bike out of complete NOS parts then that complete bike can be sold as a NOS bike? :-\

NO, unless you sell it to yourself. it's all in the wording, and the english language, though complicated and difficult, is great and diverse.

Say for instance.

here we have a complete, perfect, mint P.K ripper.
a NOS frame and forks built with a NOS tangle 125LP headset, NOS powerwing bars. etc etc.

You make it clear it was a NOS frameset and NOS parts used to build it.  But, if it's been owned by 4 people and had parts changed but is still in new condition, it's not NOS and never could be and you couldn't take it apart and sell off the bits as new old stock when they are used.

NOS means new old stock. it's not a stock item once sold, used and removed from use and resold. it's a used item in whatever condition.
it' still stock when unused because it can go back into stock on the shelf. NOS implies an unused item, a brand new off the shelf part. It doesn't say what condition it's in, i've had many a new part in shit condition from bmx shops.
you could sell the bike as brand new, but it's not stock. I'm not sure how important it is, but if i buy a new item, i like the ides that it's not been used several times by various people. if i buy a used mint item, then at least i won't be dissapointed to see slight evidence of use. Like i say, it's all in the wording.

Please let this thread stay where it is, if you want the NOS debate, open another one.

SST Racelace hubs? Me mates got a pair in his dads shed he keeps promising to dig out for me.

Got some Gen 2 SST Racelace hubs , not many pairs over here me thinks . I'm not sure but my MXR hubs might be rarer than my SST's .

These are VERY VERY rare , SST Freestyle hubs ( as on Woody Itson's bikes I posted a few pages back ) .
