am I right in thinking that the silver sealing part behind the cone on these hubs unscrews using a suntour freewheel tool.

it unscrews, but not sure if the tool fits. give it a whirl. if you have to buy one first it's always a good tool to have. i used a spanner that went over two of the cut ous last time, forget the size and i had to grind a little metal off the sides of it first. A good pair of pliers would do the job though, just put cloth between to prevent scaring.

they are too small for a freewheel tool i think
mine have always just unscrewed easily by hand, they are only covers and the locking nut holds them on

The silver part is just a cap marc. It just caps over the cone. If you are very careful you can prize the cap off. Then it's just a spanner to remove the cone.

Also marc, don't know how far your going with dismantleing your hub but i have just posted this how to in the tech stickie section. I put it together last summer but neglected to post it on here. Hope it can help you out.
