URGENT FASTLANE UPDATE and a troll and a preview..
« on: December 17, 2008, 11:20 PM »
Good Evening All

Your climbing a mountain, You have one step to go till the very top,
just as you take that step a horrible little troll pokes you with a stick, stopping you take that step,
every time you try it he pokes you ...

My Internet connection has been down for 5 bloooody days!!
Back on line just tonight. OK after this set back and also one at the printers,
with it being Christmas we have thought.. The best thing now would be to launch it in the new year..

New year New Mag!!

So I think that's going to have to be the plan and it gives us all a  break from it all to.

The magazine is all finished and looks mint,

What we have covered is mainly a healthy run down from last year's Major Races so it is a timeless and special edition.
It is a magazine that not only the current crop of riders will cherish but one that would
make BMX racing look so cool that the world and his wife would want to get there snap on!

The plan was to get enough advertisers to pay for the printing...
A hard job when most people like to see a finished product before they commit to it.
Or failing that they at least want to see it in print before they pay for an advertisement.

So how did I do..
Well I managed to generate just over .......... pounds in advertising,
I also have British cycling paying to contribute,
And I've also got this far.

We have chosen the printers who have done us a very good price on the printing,
this has given us some top quality paper and a thick gloss cover,
the price for this is £...........for 3000 copy's

So far I have managed to get just over  .......... up front from your more committed advertiser's
(the ones you see at the races)

I have also added £.......   my self,

If I had all the money in from everyone you would all be reading it now.

A few of the Advertisers, your in office guys who never turn up track side are being
a bit we want to see it in print and want 30 days, So they are the ones really kind of holding it up,
Not their fault, they don't realize it and I can understand there way of thinking and I don't hold it against them,
As normally a established magazine would run with 30 days.
But this also makes it a catch twenty two. It is a shame it works like this,
But it also shows me the advertisers who have faith in me and a real love for their sport
and the other guys it wouldn't matter if they were selling socks!

Another hick up was we wanted to pay the printers half now then half when printed,
We could have made that target and had it out before Christmas but then we got told on Monday
this couldn't happen and we now need to pay it all up front first.

So if I haven't bored you to much and I'm nearly done, I have been working my arse of so
I could get the rest of the money my self to cover the rest of the needed funds,
I am only human and with Christmas stopping work it has been un achieveable now this year,

Sad Thing is I even got all the money up to night but Like I say the printers finish for Christmas on the 19th
so please don't think I'm unprofessional,I'm  Just a Human and I miss my bike!!
So  a January launch is This way to go we also get to have a launch party this way!

I hope you can all understand the situation and I feel I'd like you all to know whats going on

It kinda feels good to get this of my chest and I'm sorry I couldn't achieve the December deadline

I hope you don't think I've let you down or am mad

I'd also like to thank these guys especially so far

Ollie from KUWAHARA,

Mark from Groove

Rich from Urbanair,

Mike from Dialled bikes,

British Cycling,

Martin from BIG DADDY CUSTOM PLATES, Jon from K-124

Phil from Tibbs Cycles

Alan from guessed it Alan's bmx

Kelvin Batey

Shanaze Reade

david Michael

Sir Alan Humpfreys

The Rangers and Mr Mingo

Keith Wilson

All the photographers and controbuters

This is for going the extra mile (this will be remembered at the launch party and in future editions)

i'd also like to thank you all for listening,

Happy Christmas and I'm of to kill a troll..on my bike..

Fewh!!!

Dave

If any further advertisers want to take opportunity of the delay due to Santa doing the rounds..
Please get in touch and we can still get it on ...

Been through some trying and testing times there, look forward to the mag, remember Rome wasn't built in a day, and in these times, nobody in the business world is too keen to be putting up money.

Enjoy xmas and New Year, and sure we're all looking forward to 1st Edition, and more than happy to subscribe

Shame about the delay Dave, but not your fault.  We've waited this long for a race mag, so a few more weeks won't harm.

Any chance of a sneaky PDF peak for advertisers?!

Good luck with it all, looking forward to getting hold of a copy in the New Year.
One build a year, the only way to get it right. No rushing involved.

Good luck with the mag.

It's great that someone has the vision (and balls) to produce a RACING  mag -  although I haven't raced since the 80's I'll definitely be supporting you by buying a copy.

I have my finger at the ready.........where do I "add to basket"  ???
I might actually build a bike this year instead of just hoarding parts :)

Hey All!!

First of a very Happy new year to all at Radbmx and the radsters that sail in her!..

hasn't it been lovely having a break....

But after a merry old time I just remembered I think I owe you guys and girls a magazine.

If you listen very carefully at night and you live in wales,

you should be able to hear the sound of the press   :D   whirling   :D  through the pages of fastlane bmx  ...

Also In the next few days that follow a magic button will appear... Once pressed the future will be in  your hands,

There will be no free tractors or tanks to collect, Just balls out racing featuring you guys..

HAPPY NEW YEAR ITS GOING TO ROCK!!!   :daumenhoch:

I am the excited bunny!!
