bb sets and headsets

Its been years since i did this. Can someone show any pics or diagrams on how to fit  bb for one piece crank (unsealed) and headset for 1" threaded forks. A breakdown of all the individual components would be helpful. Can anyone help i dont want to make a balls of my debut build.

put the cups in the freezer overnight

Great fellas cheers for all that. The main problem i think i will have is remember the order of components when i build.

took mine to a local bike shop that has a cup press!

Five min's and 10 quid later, job done, no stress

I have one of those!!

It certainly makes life easy!!

But a lot of money unless you do a lot of builds!!

If you do buy one then lose the plastic washers!!    They get stuck in the threads and you'll end up stripping the threads!!

Yeah you are right it is a bit pricey 'cos i wont be building that many.Unless i can find a threaded bar and some big old washers and nuts could make my own.Do you think if i jammed the bb housing with the cups in a black and decker workmate and tightened would it do the same job? Worth a bash i reckon.
