Tailspins on a gen 2 haro...is it possible.
« on: December 28, 2008, 11:09 AM »
Been getting back into flatland on my gen2 master and nailing the basics again pretty quickly...nailed rockwalks, kick turns and back hops within a few hours and having fun finding my balance again and falling off a few times as well.

Decided to start practicing tailspins last night pulled one off first time as I used to have em nailed many moons ago but the brake barrel snagged under the front little gusset so got jammed up..any way around this or is it down to the geometry?

I have a hollow bolt in my vectors that I am not using but it sems its the actual barrel of the dc brake that looks too high to spin..any ideas?

What calipers are you running on the front Jase?

I'm aware that MX1000s will probably jam - I guess they weren't designed to be Potts modded...

...well done for getting back on though, last time I tried to ride I fell off doing a bleeding curb endo and haven't been back yet  :(

Yeah running mx1000 where the weinman barrel is it just seems too high especially with the gussett.
I have been putting off doing flatland for 7 months since getting back into bmx..so I have surprised myself to be honest and really enjoying busting my moves after so long....managed to pull off 4 back hops from an endo last night (wow)...I used to do over a 100 :LolLolLolLol:

I guess it's an fs880 front caliper if you want to spin the bars then Jase - shame, because the MX1000s look good...

4 back hops mate, nice one - I've managed to do 3, then I had to have a little rest...

You could modify the mx1000 to work upside down but you'd have to loose the release mech, easier to go the 880 route...  :daumenhoch:

surely 880 is the brake to have on a gen 2 freestyler? i'm no expert though.

bin the mx1000s and find an 880 set. potts mod, have fun.  :daumenhoch:

MX1000 with potts mode....

But I have been told its better to drill the quick release off & bolt the weinman adjuster on  8)

you might well be right, maybe i'm thinking of sports not masters...what do i know, my haro's a 90s one with bulldogs. lol.

 :daumenhoch:

I have seen a spec somewhere.

even so, 880's would be better for your purpose.  :daumenhoch:

To be honest I don't give a fk about either gen1 or gen2 haro masters, the only haro 's I like is a gen1 sport and gen1 freestyler, that is why I am thrashing the little bitch on a daily basis like it was designed for,I just want to ride as much as i can, have fun and do it all again tomorrow, bikes or collections don't really inspire me much TBH,talented riders do.  :daumenhoch:.

So why not fit a 880 on yours then, if you just want to thrash it, its a much better brake for freestyle than the MX1000/900s  ::)

Its what it was designed for  ;)

I don't want an 880 fella I like my MX1000,i am not spending another cent on my master it has bled me dry enough so it stays as it is until I snap it,also had 880's on my TA and wasn't that impressed :D

My mate snapped his Master BITD doing a 360 on the flat, so it probably won't be long
