Pots head
« on: December 26, 2008, 04:24 PM »
Hi Chaps,

I have a profile XL stem,

I bought an ACS hollow bolt so I could do the pots mod.

the ACS bolt is too long, can't cut it cos the thread starts too low,  And also, it's too fat!

anyone know what I need and where I can get one?

Been on Rini's but they don't seem to have what I need.

any help, as always, would be appreciated.   :daumenhoch:

you're worrying about nowt mate.

drill out the stem the right size, it's 8mm or 10mm. for your acs bolt

then thread the wdege all the way on, hacksaw a bit of the thread off, tidy it up with a file and then when your thread the wedge off it should leave the threads nice and clean so it'll thread back on easy. there should be plenty of thread to cutoff, on the one's i've had there hase been.

or get a flex fighter for your stem so your stem is lifted a touch and leaves room for your bolt.

job done

no stress

enjoy.

kind regards Joe

let me know when the others get back and we'll sort out some sort of postage.

I'll pay for any expense that you've incurred  :daumenhoch:

I rememeber back in the old days, having to drill the stem out to get the new bolt in.

It's only the top piece as the main shaft is usually a lot wider
