The last time that Eric Rupe (frame & forks) went on sale on ebay there was a black chrome Pro Class frame (only) for sale at the same time.  The Pro Class sold for about $100 more.

I have a Rupe frame that is potenially for sale - a late 1984 so one of the first.
It is in very rough condition (needs a repaint, new decals) but otherwise structurally fine.
Serial number is J4000498.
There is s VERY SLIGHT possibility that this frame was actually Eric's - I need to investigate further.
However, in early 1985 he came here to race (New Zealand) and had a white painted Eric Rupe.
It is possible he left it behind afterwards (as often happened at that time).
Until I confirm it's a nice story.
I will be selling it though I'd say - I don't want to go down that road of a Rupe resto - ProClass rims, cranks etc.

I have some Mongoose 'style' forks that go with it (not Mongoose though).

Yea he did sign up on here and Ive tried to get in contact with him about the frame to make him an offer but no reply. Its like you say kdw712 why not just put a reserve on it or a high start, saves alot of messing around :'( :-\
