Powerlite FS-2
« on: December 20, 2008, 05:20 PM »
Thought I'd share a couple of snaps of my recently aquired Powerlite FS-2.

I ain't really done anything to it, apart from give it a bit of a clean up and change the seat and pedals. It's just my run-around, but serves that purpose great, and looks pretty cool as well if you ask me.   :coolsmiley:

For those of you who saw my post where i was trying to work out what Powerlite it is, I reckon it's a 1996 FS-2 but i could be wrong.

Thought i'd chuck the serial number up here just in case anyone knows what model name the serial corresponds with, because i'm still not convinced it's an FS-2

YC96060496

From what i've been able to decipher, it would have been made in June of '96, anyone know which name was being used for these frames then?

you want some powerlite stamped profiles on there if there's any about?

i missed some on the bay recently >:(. just got these for the challenger's gearing issues.

would have preferred a 45 i think. mind you 42/16 and 180 cranks is perfect for an old git :LolLolLolLol:

That does look very similar, the only difference i can see is the chain wheel.

I'm not that clued up on how things work, if my bike would have been made in June '96, would they have released a number of bikes in that period with the same frame just with different parts?

The only bit of reference material i've been able to find on t'internet is this:

http://sports.webshots.com/photo/2449852850080637499zCeVNI

It's taken from the 1995 Powerlite Catalog.

There's is no specific name given to the frame set, which suggests to me they would have just released them with different parts, ranging from basic to the more expensive? (hence the FS Pro???)
