can brakes be converted?

does anyone know if its possible to convert a rear weinmann brake caliper to a front one easily?
and if so will they look/work the same?

swap the spindle
rebuilding is a reversal of stripping

i know told u it was a dummies guide, im seein two bolts? one in the centre of the caliper the other holing the arm on ,
any chance of a picture guide?  :-\ :laugh: :-[

just put the parts you take off in a line.
then change the spindle.
and put the parts back on in reverse to how you took em off.

your best bet is to put all the bits in a bag...jumble em up, then put em back together in any old order

ok heres the pic of the actual caliper that will be used,
if u guys could explain using this thatd be great,
i think in my head i think this is a more complex job than it is as ive never done it before!

Take the Acorn nut off the end
Take the normal nut off
Take the washer off
Take the front arm off
Take the washer off
Take the rear arm off
Take the washer off
Take the spring out
Put new spring in new Spindle
Put washer on
Put rear arm on
Put washer on
Put front arm on
Put washer on
Put flat nut on and nip up so there is no play and arms move freely
Hold back nut in place with a spanner and Nip up the Acorn nut against it
