My downhill mountain biking buddy from the last few years died this week - back in the day (early eighties) he used to ride a Hutch Trickstar around Benfleet and was a frequent visitor to Rom Skatepark. He'd had a brain tumor for the last few years and had had a couple of operations to try and reduce it and he was doing okay, we even went out a month or so ago to do some downhill at Aston Hill and I'd talked him into getting his Hutch up to speed for a visit to Benfleet's indoor skatepark over the winter. He died in his sleep on Tuesday morning, 40 years old.
Don't know if anyone on here remembers him from the old BMX days - Adrian Greenfield, funnily enough I remember meeting him then, from a one time visit to Benfleet (you always remember when someone has a cool bike), but we only became friends in the last few years on the MTB scene.
Sad day, he was a real live your life to the full kind of guy and even with a brain tumour was still doing jumps at Aston Hill last month.
