BMX 2009 National Series Preview
Posted: 22 Dec 2008
The 2009 BMX will see a new look National Series format, with 10 rounds at five handpicked venues, Derby, Burnham, Peterborough, Manchester and Bournemouth.
* 11-12 April: Round 1 and 2 will be held at Derby's revamped Alvaston Park track. The track is technical and long, a real lung buster for the Easter weekend.
* 23-24 May: Round 3 and 4: Burnham has consistently provided top class events in recent years, so the BMX National Series will be revisiting this popular venue on Spring Bank Holiday.
* 6-7 June: Round 5 and 6: Following a very successful Brits in 2008, Peterborough is back on the national calendar in June
* 8-9 August: Round 7 and 8: Manchester's new track at Fallowfield gets an early opportunity to show what Sport England funding can do for BMX racing. This great facility in a beautiful park should be a real hit.
* 29-30 August: Round 9 and 10: A welcome return to sunny Bournemouth over the August bank holiday should round off the national season with style.

2009 International - 26-28 June - Round 13-14 - Cheddar
It's taken sometime to achieve, but it looks like Cheddar's future is secure for the next few years. Expect a revamped track in time for the Euro invasion. Early discussion point toward this event being televised.
2009 British Championships - 19-20 Sept - Cheddar
There's no better way of ending the season than racing at the best facility the UK has to offer. The Brits make a welcome return to Cheddar after a break of 4 years
Personally think all the changes are good less weekends so cheaper. can race then watch or race then race again. 1 national per each region, new tracks ..all good
