Self centering brakes
« on: December 03, 2008, 11:18 PM »
I have two sets of Dia compe MXs one with self centering and one without.
Cannot anyone let me know why this would be?
I have looked through the site and it shows some with and some wih out with no real pattern  :idiot2:
Is there anyone more desirable then the other?

Cheers....Steve

I think that MX1000s had the self centering mechinism added about 1982/83.  Someone on here will be able to tell you exactly when.  So either your brake pre-dates this (the date will be stamped on the back of the arms) or someone has broken it in the past and put a normal spindle on it.
