What hubs originally came with the pro class rims, looked on vintage mongoose but does not name the hubs?

Cheers

Picked these up today after being rebuilt. They are Suzue large flange hubs. Looks like from some of the piccys in that link these could have been the correct hubs for some of these wheel sets.

One build a year, the only way to get it right. No rushing involved.

As ever, I've had them all guys.

Off the shelf, most UK wheels have Suzue sealed hubs. I know, as in 1983 I bought a pair of Tuffs and rode my Cali off every ramp I could. My dad put my Pro-class wheels in the shed for a rainy day, and 25 years later found them again, so a quick trip to get re-spoked down my LBS and ta-da, here they are :daumenhoch:

I've also bought a lot from the States, and my Minigoose 1-3/8" came with Suzues. However, all the 1.75 wheels I have imported came with SR hubs. Mmmm, go figure that one out eh?

Oh, all of them were low-flange. Nothing with large flange has passed through my grubby mitts, and I've had 8 sets now....

I also had one from the UK with a Shimano hub, but that had definitely been raced so could easily have been re-built.

These were all UK sourced with Suzues:

Still limping......

Right then - shows how good my memory is  :uglystupid2:  Mine are low flange SR hubs and these are 1.75 survivors bought from the states, I also had a look through the US mongooses catalogues and the 83 and 84 catalogues don't have a spec sheet but the 85 says they're SR :

Maybe suzue was just a UK thing  ???
