It probably rides a lot better than it looks, but I'm with the others on this, it really is irretrievably ugly  :uglystupid2:

this bike/thread has been a journey of transition for me,

its just got me thinking,

its just a bicycle,a collection of machined metallic objects configured to work in a certain way,

where does the fact that so many of us find it "ugly"?
is it because it doesnt conform to the double diamond thats traditional in bicycle design for so long?
is it because it strays from the image in our heads of what a bmx bicycle looks like?

why do we imbue these objects with so much thought and opinion?
that bicycle there could be someones pride and joy, even the dude that started this thread said he liked it,
what makes it worse or less attractive than an s&m or a standard?

maybe i'm just getting old or going soft in the head,

maybe being harsh about the stuff others like isnt the way to be anymore

so,
sorry for belittling your bike there dude,

if you like it and it makes you happy then fooking good on you :daumenhoch:

i dont like the colour of the forks, i like triple clamps but prefer the hanebrink ones as the drop outs are positioned better, love the wheels big time, anybody got any????? and i would have one of them frames (diff colour) if they where 1" threaded n non canti, then again my bike choices are not everybodys cup of tea anyway :D

I love triple clamp forks but don't like these very much at all.  I am looking for a set of triples for a mid-school build that I am in the middle of.

it's a bit Marmite in't it? love it or hate it.

 :LolLolLolLol: :LolLolLolLol: :LolLolLolLol: :LolLolLolLol:

Personally, I like the frame, how ever those forks and wheels don't do it for me.

I'm not gonna call it ugly, or hideous or sh1t, it's just different, i like different.  :daumenhoch:

I've seen a pic on here somewhere of one of these before and it was more sensibly kitted out (in my opinion, which is fo course RIGHT, because I'm one opinionated MF) and it was well nice.

I don't mind the frame but triple crown forks should stay on MTB downhill bikes.

Not fond of the Spin wheels either (only mags for BMX are Skyways).

Did the Haro Monocoque first appear in 1994?

That one on the cover of Plus is the first version which was made for Haro by Mountain Cycle (it was basically a 20" version of their MTB frame).

The one in the pic at the start of this thread is a later version (nice than the original one in my opinion).

That was an odd period in BMX - monocoque frames, suspension forks, triple crowns, etc.  I guess carbon and clips are the new school equivalent.

There was a Haro ad for a racer with an Auburn-style back end. There was a couple of plates behind the BB that ir bolted onto.
Are they even rarer than this one?

The Haro Group One Composite is exceedingly rare.  That was ca. 1992.  I only ever saw 1 in person, at the NBL Grands.  I don't even think the factory team had them.  Chip from C4 Labs sold one a few months ago.  It was NOS with box and went in the $1200 USD range.
