Hutch grip question!
« on: November 09, 2008, 12:21 PM »

As many of you know i have tried to do a early 83 Hutch Pro Star. Still got the proper crank set up to get etc,

I have some minty hutch grips on it at the mo but i believe this may not be correct (a shame as i like them) I think it should have Oakley's on it.

Firstly, Can any one tell me if this is right or is it a one of hutch ad i saw somewere, it was defo a hutch ad though, a complete bike

Secondly What type of Oakley's should they be.

Thirdly, should i bother as i do like the hutch grips and they cost me silly money :idiot2:. Buy to me worth every penny as rightly so or not (and i expect to get a slating for saying this) a hutch build ain't a hutch build unless its got them on.

Also i have seen the complete bike with a different seat on it prob the same ad as previously mentioned, and it was not a kashi, does anyone know what it may have been.
or as previously said dont worry. i could then concentrate on the cranks then.

Thanks for your help all

cheers steve  :daumenhoch:

very nice leave the grips on mate,it looks rather naked without the pads also as DB250F  said , however i feel the tyres let the whole build down loose the whitewalls(them are freestyle tyres on that ) , i think they look out of place some comps would look way better, also the arayas take off the big blue decals and add some small red and bllue and chrome decals, besides that its spot on and im jelous  :daumenhoch:

Steve, leave the hutch friggers on , stop fussing :LolLolLolLol:

The 83 had Oakley B1B grips and a ACS Stoker seat. Leave those bits alone, the 84 looked loads better. Here's an 83.....

Oakley B1B's come on Ebay rgularly. Mainly red & yellow but you can get replacement white sleeves.
May cost you around £100 to get these red and whites.

Of course you could take the Hutch grips and sell them, and with the funds raised buy the Oakleys and some Aerospurts!  :LolLolLolLol:

It's a prototype that never quite happened, the stem bolt is incorporated into the clamp and does the job of the rear 2 allen bolts to save weight. There was a mini version, I think I've got a mag somewhere with that in an ad so I'm guessing the mini one went into production
