hmm - It is a slick as I got my road bike on it !
The roller was just touching too
What happens when you need more resistance then - melted tyre

Probably caused by not touching hard enough so the tyre was spinning faster than the turbo, also, pushing the tyre harder onto the turbo doesnt give more resistance, putting the bike in a bigger gear does that.

Was worried my post sounded a little condacending, glad you saw it the way i meant it
Cant remember what website i saw it on but i downloaded a programme showing how to get the best results from a turbo trainer & it really worked, you do certain amount of minutes in this gear at this rpm followed by a different gear for a diff amount of minutes & so on etc.
A google search would prob find it.

I bought a Redline Trainer for 20"/24" bikes.
It runs off the rim.
Not really used it yet because I'm too lazy to tidy up all my BMX stuff thats cluttered up my living room!!

haven't seen one,but for a good cardio work out, like kdub says, 5 mins in an easy gear to get warmed up, then 5 mins on a hard ratio to get the leg muscles burning then five mins bit easier to get legs spinning etc etc, change work loads
dont forget the warm down five mins on easyiest gearing
followed by a pie fag and a cold beer
