Tecmatic bearings
« on: January 14, 2006, 11:21 AM »
Hey all, has anyone managed to source bearings for the Redline Techmatic bottom bracket? (the bearing dimensions are 38mm outer race, 28mm inner) According to my local bearing supplier the bearing is an OEM-type fitting and needs to come from Redline, but since the Tecmatic disappeared over 15 years ago that's probably not going to happen.

Any suggestions?

Craig

yes go to your yellow pages and look up your local bearing suppliers.
my local one is called j & m belts, when i used to have a kart i used to get the engine bearing from there. from a specific kart shop they would be about the 50 quid mark for the kit, from the bearing guy they were about 12 quid, and of a higher quality. he stocked sealed and loose bearings in every imaginable size, its worth a try

Dave
haro, how do you do

Thanks for the suggestion Dave but have already tried that. They looked right thru their whole catalogue of bearing suppliers with no luck as it's a pretty unusual size.
