I am on the understanding Ed that these are not available in the UK. I think it's because the material used to make them is not allowed in the UK. I spoke to the owner of Moonster, a member on RB.com, and he told me he will not ship to the UK, unless he has been given the go ahead now.

Can anyone enlighten me please ???

I will try and purchase a set later  :daumenhoch:

I was looking at them the other day and when I saw this post I thought id email him to see what he said ,this was his reply,

Hi

I have never heard that but then I'm not in the customs and excise business. We do send these all the time to the UK and loads of other countries too. We also send bikes that have tires on to the UK. Haven't had any issues yet luckily.

Many thanks

It is weird that this seller, Ian, has said this as it was he who told me that the issue with selling them to the UK was due to the material used in the fabrication. He now states in his thread on RB.com - "We had Pana make a better version just for us using Kevlar so they let us sell them anywhere."

Either way, I couldn't buy them as his website, at the time, would not allow shipping to the UK.

I'm glad this has been resolved though as members on the Museum were buying them for pittance and selling them at 'genuine' article prices, even though the sidewall print is different  :knuppel2:

I think I will grab a set of each colour Ed  :coolsmiley:

Just to clarify something with regards to the "genuine" issue. Panaracer used to make tyres for loads of people back in the day (ACS, Peregrine, etc, etc). The mounts produced for those companies had a patent on them. As those patents are not expiring Panaracer is able to reopen the moulds and reproduce them under their own name. So these are the same tyres as before but the term "genuine" is quite misleading.

The good news is that they are now made with up to date high pressure thread count so should hold up well to everyday riding. I work for Panaracer in the UK and we can get these tyres in. The retail would be £30 a piece, however our minimum order is quite high so we are still deciding if it is viable, or if we should just leave it and let everyone mail order them as they are currently doing.

Hi All,

Tyres from Japan arrived today (6 days after ordering), I'm well happy with them and recommend them highly. :daumenhoch:

I ordered these the same time as ordering something from Vert-ego and I still haven't had any confirmation with regards to the order
let alone it being sent out!!!! :tickedoff:

Here's pics of the tyres on the bike :)
